Recent work

Nothing published here yet — the first client builds are underway. Rather than leave you an empty page, here is what a build actually involves, shown through sites you can open and use rather than described in the abstract.

    We talk first

Forty minutes on what your business does, who it is for, and what the site has to achieve. Most of the decisions that matter get made here, before anything is designed.

  2. 02

    A direction, not a template

One considered look, built around your business. Three of them are below — a trades business, a restaurant and a florist. Nothing about them is shared but the care.

  3. 03

The things it has to do

Bookings, a shop, listings people can filter, a menu you change yourself. Built into the site rather than bolted on. Open any of them and walk through it — the filtering and the galleries run for real, and the booking and the checkout show you the flow with written, tested code behind them waiting to be fitted to a site.

    Fast on a bad connection

Most of your customers arrive on a phone, often on ordinary regional reception. Fonts are served from the site's own domain, so nothing has to be fetched from somewhere else before your customer sees anything. Photographs are the heavy part of any site — they are sized properly here, and the ones further down a page only load once you scroll to them.

    Live, and yours

Set up on hosting that costs nothing at this size, with the domain registered in your name. Keep me on for upkeep at $49 a month, or take the whole thing elsewhere and I will help you move it.
